OptiSound: Getting Started Guide

OptiSound makes it easy to stream professionally curated, fully licensed background music in any business space. This guide walks you through creating your account, previewing stations, setting up your locations and zones, and starting your music — all in just a few steps.

In this article:

Create Your OptiSound Account

  1. Go to app.optisound.com on your desktop or browser.
  2. Click Create Account and enter your information to sign up and start your free trial.
  3. Once logged in, you'll land on the Stations page — where you can immediately start browsing and previewing music.
Note: For the quickest setup, create your account on the web portal rather than the mobile app.

Browse and Preview Stations

Tip: Click the heart icon on any station to save it to Favorites for quick access later.

Before setting up any devices, take a moment to explore OptiSound's music library and find the right vibe for your space.

  1. On the Stations page, you'll see the full library of professionally curated stations.
  2. Use genre tabs to filter stations by your type of business or genre.
  3. Click any station to preview tracks and find the perfect fit for your venue.

Set Up Your Location and Zones

A Location represents one physical business site. Within each Location, Zones let you assign different music to different areas — for example, a lobby, main floor, or patio.

Create a Location:

  1. In the left-hand sidebar, click Locations.
  2. Click Add a Location 
  3. Enter a name and your business address, then click Add Location.

Note: Once a Location is created, its address cannot be changed. Make sure the address is correct before saving.

Add a Zone:

  1. On the Locations page, choose the Location where you want to add the zone.
  2. Click Add Zone +.
  3. Give the zone a descriptive name (e.g., "Lobby", "Main Floor", or "Patio") and click Save.

You can add as many Zones as you need within each Location. Zones created start “inactive”, you can manually activate them or pair a device to automatically activate them. Only “active” zones count towards your subscription.

Pair a Device

Download the OptiSound app on iOS, Android, or via APK and pair your device to a Zone. Each Zone can have one paired device, and each device can be paired to only one Zone at a time. You can pair a device to a Zone in one of two ways:

Pairing code (recommended): 

  1. Under the Zone, click Pair Device 

  1. Open the app — a 6-character code appears on the login screen. Enter that code in the web portal to instantly pair the device to your Zone.

Sign in with credentials: Log in to the app with your OptiSound email and password, then select or set up your Location and Zone.

Once paired, the zone will be automatically activated (if available in your subscription) and the device will appear inside the Zone on the Locations page.

Now you're ready to create the perfect atmosphere for your business!
