Assign Music to a Device

There are two ways to assign a music station to a device in OptiSound — from the Stations page or directly from the Devices page. Both methods start music playing immediately, so choose whichever fits your workflow.

Assign a Station from the Stations Page

The Stations page is best for assigning the same station to multiple devices at once.

1. From the Stations page, browse or search for the station you want to use 

   

   Note: Premium stations are available exclusively on the Pro plan for businesses in the US and Canada.

2. Hover over the station card and click Push to Devices, or open the station and click the Push to Devices button on its detail page

   

3. Select your device from the dropdown

   

   You can select and assign the station to multiple devices at the same time.

4. Click Push to devices — the station will play immediately

   Note: When a station is assigned to a device, playback starts in a randomized order and may not begin with the specific song shown or selected. This is required for licensing compliance.

Assign a Station from the Devices Page

From the Devices page, stations can only be assigned to one device at a time.

1. From the Devices page, click the device you want to assign music to — this opens the Device Info panel on the right

   

2. Click the Assign Content button

3. In the dropdown that appears, select Station

   

4. A Select a Station modal opens

   

5. Click the station you want — it will begin playing on the device immediately

Change or Reassign a Station

From the Stations page:

1. Find the new station you want to use

2. Click Push to Devices and select the same device

   

3. The new station takes effect immediately

From the Devices page:

1. Click the device you want to update — this opens the Device Info panel

2. Click Change to… next to the currently playing station

   

3. Select a new station from the modal — the new station replaces the current one instantly

Remove a Station from a Device

To stop music on a device and leave it unassigned:

1. Click the device in your Devices list — this opens the Device Info panel

2. In the Now Playing section, click the ⋮ (three-dot menu) icon

   

3. Select Remove content — playback stops immediately

   

Note: Removing a station does not disconnect or delete the device. To start music again, follow the steps in the Assign a Station from the Devices Page section above.
