Audio Messages let you broadcast custom voice announcements directly alongside your background music — no extra app or system required. Use them for promotions, store hours, safety reminders, or any message you want customers to hear. This guide walks you through all two ways to create a message and how to manage them.

Getting to Audio Messages

In the left sidebar, click the Audio Messages.
- You'll land on the Messages pageFrom here, create a message by uploading a file or recording live.
Create Your First Audio Message
Upload a File
Use this if you already have an audio file on your device or in cloud storage.

Click Upload File in the top-right corner of the page
- Drag and drop your file or click Browse Files to select one

The file will appear in your Messages list once uploaded
Note: Accepted file size is 1,024 MB or less.
Record Audio
Use this to record a voice message directly in OptiSound.

Click Record Audio in the top-right cornerGrant microphone access if prompted.

Click the Start Recording to start a new recording

Click Pause to pause, or Stop to finish

Click Preview to review your recording, or Start Over to discard it and begin again
- Once you are happy with your recording, Click Save Recording — it will appear in your Messages list
Managing Your Messages
Click the ⋮ (three-dot menu) on the right side of any message row to take action on it:
- Preview — play the audio message directly in your browser
- Push to Devices — send the message to a connected device to play immediately
- Add to Message List — add the message to a Message List for scheduled or recurring playback
- Show where used — see which devices or schedules this message is currently assigned to
- Move To — move the message into a folder
- Rename — rename the message file
- Edit Tags — add or update tags for easier filtering and searching
- Get Info — open Message Detail Panel to view detailed information
- Delete — permanently delete the message

Message Detail Panel
Click any message in the list to open its detail panel on the right side of the screen. The panel shows:
- File name — displayed at the top with a pencil icon to rename it
- Description and Tags — click the pencil icon to add or edit
- File Info — includes file type, file size, created date, created by, last updated date, and last updated by
At the bottom of the panel, two action buttons are available:
- Preview — play the audio file directly in your browser
